When I received the graphic design brief for Amrita Pritam’s captivating story “The Wild Flower,” centred around the theme of breaking the patriarchy, I knew I had to create something truly unconventional. Inspired by the story’s bold spirit, I decided to break free from the traditional bookbinding norms. My design embraced the rebellious essence of the narrative by transforming the book into a bottle and a frame.
The bottle represented the confinement and suppression faced by the protagonist, while the frame symbolized the liberation and empowerment she ultimately achieved. This innovative approach aimed to challenge societal expectations and ignite conversations about dismantling patriarchal norms. I was thrilled to bring a fresh perspective to the storytelling experience.
