As part of the course, we were given the Penguin’s Cover Design Award brief where I redesigned the cover for Bernardine Evaristo’s powerful novel, ‘Girl, Woman, Other’ and convey the depth of each character’s story.
I developed a design that captured the intricate layers of the stories within, showcasing the diverse experiences of the characters. Using a depth layer-style approach, I also incorporated various elements that represented the different backgrounds and experiences within the narrative. Vibrant colours and intricate details served as visual metaphors for the richness and complexity of each person’s journey.
