As part of the course, we were given the Penguin’s Cover Design Award brief, where I had the opportunity to redesign the cover for the book ‘The Diary of a Young Naturalist’ by Dara McAnulty.
The brief called for a design that captured the essence of Dara’s profound connection with nature and his personal journey. When designing the cover, I wanted to encapsulate this immersive experience. I envisioned the title engulfed by lush leaves, symbolizing the reader’s journey into the natural world within the pages. By carefully selecting colours that echoed the earth’s vibrant palette, I aimed to evoke a sense of serenity and wonder.
It was a privilege to translate my emotions into a visual representation, celebrating the book’s essence and capturing the reader’s connection to nature.
